Nucleic acid content in plants infected with the potato X-virus

In experiments with Solanum demissum, Datura sp. and the potato vars. Priekul'kii ranniy and Kameraz the RNA content in leaves on the 5th day after inoculation was sharply reduced. With virus accumulation the RNA rose higher than in healthy plants and at the end of plant growth there was again a relative decrease. In plants grown from infected tubers there was a certain increase in RNA, a relative reduction being noted only towards the end of growth.
