A study on major chemical components of Uvaria grandiflora

To make clear the chemical constituents of Uvaria grandiflora (Annonaceae). Purification was performed using sephadex LH-20 permeation and silica gel chromatography. Structures of the purified components were determined on the basis of 1H, 13C NMR analysis and also by comparison with those of authentic compounds. Two major triterpenes, suberosol and lupeol, were identified. This paper is the first report on the identification of suberosol and lupeol from the gunus Uvaria.
