Foot disorders have been known since ancient times. However the development of podiatry as an accepted profession in the United Kingdom has been a slow process. Even today there are many sections of the healthcare community that are unfamiliar with the skills of a podiatrist. This article attempts to bridge some of this gap of knowledge and highlights training and scope of practice of a podiatrist in the United Kingdom today.
