1. Aspirin and ibuprofen were studied clinically for their antipyretic activity in a double-blind, between-patient, controlled trial. 2. The drugs were administered to patients of fever due to U.R.T.I. or to patientS of chronic urethritis with fever induced by intravenous administration of T.A.B. vaccine. 3. Aspirin 300 mg. and ibuprofen 200 mg., or 600 mg. of aspirin and 400 mg. of ibuprofen are found to be comparable in their antipyretic activity. 4. In case of both the drugs, onset of action is about 1 hour; and the rate of fall and maximum fall in body temperature comparable. 5: Duration of action of ibuprofen is longer than that of aspirin. 6. Ibuprofen is well tolerated.
