Ten swans' eggs collected near the industrial town of Nakskov in 1970 contained an average of 0.335 mg p,p deg -DDE per kg extractable fat and 3.34 mg.kg PCB; the respective values for five pochard eggs from the same area were 2.015 and 40.7; p,p deg -DDT was not detected. Ten swans' eggs collected on the Baltic coast had an average p,p deg -DDE content of 0.333, p,p deg -DDT 0.151, and PCB 1.02.
