It is concluded from a study of 20 pregnant women, 5 lactating women and ll women in the menopause, that these conditions do not generally induce a high secretion of gonadotrophin-inhibiting factor (GIF). There were a few cases of high GIF secretion in each of the 3 groups for which no explanation could be given.
