Genes of principal antigens:glycoprotein E and NS1 of tick-borne encephalitis virus &(TEV&) were recloned into eukaryotic expressing vector pSVK3. Plasmid construction pSVK3-ENS1 was characterized, using sequencing and restriction endonuclease analysis. The protective effect of gene immunization was studied in BALB/c mice. The mice received five doses of 80-100 mu-g of purified plasmid construction pSVK3-ENS1 and after a week following the last immunization, infected with 100 LD-50 of TEV (strain Sofin). In the control group, all the animals became sick and 42.9% of them died. DNA-immunized animals remained healthy during the entire observation period.
