Xanthurenic acid inhibits the activity of an experimental epileptogenic focus in the rat hippocampus

It was established in experiments on 30 antbreed albino rats with chronically implanted electrochemotrodes that xanthurenic acid (1, 5, 10, and 20 mu-g in 1 mu-l) inhibits the pathological activity of an epileptogenic focus formed in the hippocampus of the animals by injecting sodium salt of penicillin (100 U) into it.
