Of 13 lambs inoculated i/p at 1-2 weeks of age with C-type virus produced by cultured lymphocytes from an adult case of bovine leucosis, 11 became infected. Five died from leucosis in 24-27 months. In one sheep the skin was affected, and another had fibroblastoma of thymic tissue. Only one of 16 lambs inoculated i/p with tumour cells from a 6-month-old calf with generalized leucosis developed C-type virus infection.
