ICR-strain mice exposed to a continuous cold environment showed fairly regular oestrous cycles throughout the experiment. Mice exposed to continuous cold for 1 mth did not show significant differences, relative to non-cold-stressed controls, in the relative weights of the ovaries, uteri and adrenal glands; after 2 mth there was significant atrophy of the adrenals, but the relative weights of the uteri and ovaries did not differ significantly from those of the controls. There was little difference histologically between ovaries from mice cold-stressed for 1 or 2 mth and those of controls.
