In 1970, 353 wild pigeons, killed in a pest-control drive in Potsdam, were examined P.M. for salmonellae, and 1.43% were found to be infected, with S. dublin or S. typhimurium var. copenhagen. An investigation of 43 seagulls in the Brandenburg area in 1965 is also reported, in which 18.6% were found to be infected, with S. derby or S. anatum.
