The findings of 396 of the parallel (immunological and biological) pregnancy diagnostic tests on mares, reported in 1970 [see V.B. 41, abst. 1424] are now correlated with the subsequent clinical findings. These showed, for the biological and immunological tests respectively, that 94% and 92% were accurate, 1.2% and 5.8% inaccurate; 4.8% and 2.2% were doubtful. The inferior reliability of the immunological method is attributed to loss of hormone during preparatory treatment of the serum.
