One hundred and nine healthy fertile couples were selected to enter the trials of Neo Sampoon which is an effervescent contraceptive vaginal tablet manufactured in Japan, containing 60 mg of the spermicidal menfegol. The statistical evaluation of the results was performed with a Life-Table analysis. The observation was done periodically to determine its effectiveness, tolerance, and acceptance. During the period of the 6 month trial, the total womanmonths of use was 613, the follow-up visit rate was 100%, and the cumulative net rates of discontinuation, accidental pregnancy, and continuation were 11.3, 7.7 and 88.7 per 100 women, respectively.
