The method of closed, transcutaneous for tibial fracture with Zespol fixator after Ex-Fi-Re reduction under image intensifier is presented. There were 29 transverse, spiral and comminuted fractures of the tibia. In 26 cases the fracture healed primarily; the delayed union required Judet procedure in 3 cases only. No trauma related osteomyelitis was seen. The method combines advantages of both conservative (no intervention at the fracture site) and surgical (correct reduction and stable fixation) treatment.
