The average division of the 24-h day during one week between time for sleeping, working and leisure was ascertained from personal records and interviews for 1046 workers, including 421 women, doing the types of work considered in part 2. Working, sitting, standing, walking and sleeping usually accounted for over 90% of the day. The average percentages of time spent on the individual activities in the different occupational groups varied relatively little. -I.
