The influence of arterial hypertension on the level of professional performance of industrial workers was studied through biophysiological characteristics, relfecting the functional state of the cardiovascular system and CNS and the type of fatigue. Men (307), aged 40-54 yr, comprised 2 groups: the main group with asystolic pressure of 160 mm Hg and/or diastolic pressure > 95 mm Hg and a control group with normal BP . The groups were formed by aimed selection and were comparable as to the main sociodemographic indices. Differences in the parameters characterizing the cardiovascular system and CNS activity were found. The fatigue towards the end of the working day/week in the patients with arterial hypertension and the workers with normal BP determined which led to functional changes decreasing the professional working capacity of industrial workers were determined.
