Several polymers were obtained from hyaluronic acid, natural protein-chondroitin-keratan-sulfate and proteoglycan aggregates. The concentration of protein components in these polymers varied. Homogenous suspension of rabbit erythrocytes in a salt solution was used as an experimental model. It was found that the activities of proteoglycans as factors of steric exclusion of erythrocytes into an individual phase depended on their protein component concentration. The capability of carrying out steric exclusion of hyaluronic acid and proteoglycan aggregates increased as the amount of the protein component increased.
