Studying in the years 1972 through 1985 a group of 826 patients with urticaria it was found that its most frequent form (26%) was non-specific chronic urticaria, followed by acute urticaria (24%), aspirin-induced urticaria (20%), delayed pressure urticaria (80%), dermographismus (7%), cold urticaria (7%), cholinergic urticaria (2%), contact urticaria (1%). A significant correlation with age and sex was observed in dermographismus urticaria which was most frequent in adult men, cholinergic urticaria, most frequent in young men, and cold urticaria, usually occurring in women.
