Based on some simple assumptions regarding human reproduction process, a continuous time probability model for describing variation in any closed birth interval of a woman of a marital duration (t) has been developed. The model incorporates the possibility of the woman being adolescent sterile at the time of consumption of marriage. The estimates of truncation bias in the mean closed birth intervals are also obtained. For illustration, the model is applied to an observed closed birth interval between 1st and 2nd births of the women with marital duration of 7 yr.
