On a probability model for interior birth interval

Under simplified assumptions a model is derived for an interior birth interval: a closed birth lying entirely within a given segment of marriage duration. It may be also used to describe closed birth interval lying between two survey dates. Method to find out moment estimates of the parameters are outlined. The application of the model is illustrated through three observed sets of data taken from a survey entitled "Rural Development and Population Growth.sbd.A Sample Survey 1978".
