A case of an Oslerus osleri infection (nematoda) in a dog

Nodules were found in the mucous membrane of the trachea and bronchi of an 8-month-old male miniature poodle from Germany suffering from dyspnoea. Besides worm fragments, one female, one male and number of ova and larvae of O. osleri were discovered by parasitological examination of tracheal rinse liquid. A literature survey is given on peculiarities in the life cycle and on the epidemiology, clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment of this helminthosis which is rarely diagnosed in Europe.
