Clinical observations and mycological investigations carried out in 50 patients with skin diseases caused by dermatophytes and yeast-like fungi demonstrated a high effectiveness of Myco-Polycid preparations in their treatment. Good results were obtained particularly in inguinal mycosis and superficial mycosis of the skin. It is stressed that the drugs were effeGtive also in cases of infections caused by Trichophyton rubrum. Myco-Polycid in the form of cream was better tolerated than in solution. In cases of acute inflammatory skin changes Myco-Polycid can produte skin irritation and should be recommended only after previous treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs. Myco-Polycid caused relatively earlier disappearance of fungi than regression of clinical changes. In view of this, supplementary application of reducing and desquamating agents is recommended. The results of epidermal tests with Myco-Polycid preparations in 100 patients with different skin diseases demonstrated a good tolerance of the drug in the form of cream, while the solution caused sometimes toxic reactions.
