In the first trial White Leghorn hens, which had previously been kept in individual cages and on a diet with 3.5 to 3.7% Ca, were given diets with 0.68 to 0.70% P and 3.94, 1.76 or 0.60% Ca. In the next trial male White Rock chickens which had been reared to 4 weeks of age on a commercial diet were given diets with 0.66% P and 1.11, 0.71 or 0.31% Ca. The last trial was similar but Ca was fixed at 1 0 to 1-07% and P was 0.42, 0.55 or 0.70%.
