The pharmacodynamics of anti-arrhythmia preparations and their different combinations when administered intravenously

The effectiveness of i.v. administration of novocainamide, lidocaine, ritmilen, obsidan, and prolecofen was studied in connection with the potential danger of the simultaneous use of combinations of these drugs. Twenty-two patients with various forms of arrhythmias were examined. An algorithm of the choice of a preparation was proposed. It was found that combined i.v. administration of small doses of the drugs is safe and more effective than monotherapy. Some combinations were more effective than single drugs with respect to their effect on central hemodynamics.
