Sterile anaemic WV/WV were used as a model of a selective genetic deficiency in sexual differentiation; spermatogenesis is almost completely inhibited, while the androgen-producing cells continue to function, although subnormally. The reduced hormonal activity is reflected in significantly reduced relative weights of the seminal vesicles, which are regarded as target organs.
