Examinations of 300 sport-girls aged 11 to 17 years, 95 of them having had moderate physical loads and 205- high ones, showed that the regular going in for sport aids the harmonic physical development of adolescent girls. Moderate physical loads at puberty age had no noticeable effect on.the sexual development process, high ones retarded it. Disturbances of menstrual functions occurred more often among girls going in for sport than among those that did not go: opsomenoithea or secondary amenorrhea were noted in 16.7 per cent of cases with moderate physical loads and in 24.8 per cent of cases with high loads.
