Cerebral hemodynamics and psychological status were studied in myocardial infarction patients in physical exercise programs as a part of rehabilitation therapy. Physical exercise was found to increase the tone of large and medium-sized cerebral arteries and small cerebral vessels, while decreasing arterial blood flow to the brain. Physical exercise facilitated an increase in self-evaluation and "psychological defense". The psychological factors studied were shown to play an important role in the formation of an adequate psychological response to physical exercise.
