Analysis of the present agricultural labour force in the GDR leads to the following conclusions as to future tasks: high quality vocational training is necessary to secure the recruitment of young blood for the state and collective farms; job adaptability and the further education and training of cooperative farmers and workers should be improved; working and living conditions should be improved and villages further developed. The second article looks at the assessment of labour requirements at the level of Cooperative Associations, and the final one points out that manpower resources in the GDR are limited and need to be rationally employed throughout the year.
