During 1976-89, nests of D. urbica (392) and H. rustica (584) were collected from 54 localities in 6 provinces in northern Poland. The highest mean number of cimicids per nest was observed in a D. urbica nest (28.4) and the lowest in a H. rustica nest (4.2). The highest percentage of swallows' nests with O. hirundinis was recorded in March and the lowest in February. The greatest mean number of O. hirundinis per D. urbica nest occurred in August and the lowest in February, and per H. rustica nest in September and March, respectively.
