Various agents, having efficacy against Monogenea in fish, including simple chemicals, staining dyes, formaldehyde, antimalarials, trichlorfon, levamisole, niclosamide, praziquantel, mebendazole and toltrazuril, are reviewed. Their mode of actions are discussed, as well as special risks in application and disadvantages. Also discussed are both the means by which various bath treatments are employed to control monogeneans of fish and methods of prevention of fish parasites.
