This account of work on the control of endemic diseases in the former German possessions in Africa in the early years of this century includes brief reference to measures against the Anopheline vectors of malaria and to bush clearing, resettlement and travel restrictions to reduce the incidence of sleeping sickness [caused by Trypanosoma sp.].
