The article describes the circumstances of coming into being (1995) and the activities of the German Friendship Circle of Polish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, which was renamed 2005 in German-Polish Friendship Circle of Orthopaedy and Traumatology. German and Polish orthopaedics are presented, especially those members of the Friendship Circle, who rendered a great contribution to the development of German-Polish cooperation in the years 1978-2008.
