Use of fibrin glue after insertion of an expansion prosthesis

The concept of tissue expansion is based on the elasticity of the skin which implies its retractability after removal of the prosthesis and insertion of the expanded flap, resulting in tension of the suture margins. Fibrin adhesive applied to the expansion cavity and under the expanded flap has two objectives: to prevent tension of the skin edges/and to prevent sero-haematoma in the expansion cavity. 15 successive cases of expansion prosthesis were successfully treated in this way. The technical protocol and results are presented.
