Seasonal fluctuations in bombesin and gestrin concentrations were observed in the blood of duodenal ulcer patients. A decrease in the level of these hormones was noted in the autumn-winter period. A simultaneous decline in bombesin and gastrin levels in the patients' blood in autumn and winter during remission may be assessed as changes leading to the development of duodenal ulcer exacerbations in these seasons.
