The geographic localization of fruit production in Europe has never stopped changing since the development of transport. A rapid extension of orchards in the Mediterranean countries and a regression in the other countries has been taking place. Only a European organization of the market for fruit could accelerate the amortization of cycles, the stability of producer incomes, a good localization of orchards in regard to natural conditions and a sure and regular supply situation.
