Changes in the electrical activity of the smooth muscles of the pyloric sphincter and duodenum due to arterial blood loss were studied in an experiment with rabbits. The stressor effect of arterial blood loss inhibits the activity of the smooth muscles of the pyloroduodenal zone, which may be associated with the activation of the adrenergic system, based on tachycardia. The restoration of myogenic activity in the intestine occurs faster than in the sphincter, especially in significant blood loss. The data obtained indicate that blood loss may lead not only to the inhibition of sphincteral and intestinal muscle activity, but it may also cause duodenogastric dyskinesia in the form of the predominance of duodenal activity over the activity of the pyloric sphincter.
