Data were presented on the diagnostic value of changes in the activity of components of the blood kallikrein-kinin system for the differentiated administration of hyperbaric oxygenation or drugs to gastric and duodenal ulcer patients. Patients (58) were examined during exacerbation. The data obtained indicate that reduced kininogenesis, which leads to the elimination of kinin from the humoral regulators of homeostasis, is the most significant pathogenetic factor. An increase in kallikrein activity due to therapy and during recuperation indicate the above fact. Hyperbaric oxygenation is the most effective therapeutic method for patients with reduced kininogenesis, because it normalizes the activity of prekallikrein, total kallikrein and its inhibitors to a larger extent than drug therapy.
