The quantity of virus in faecal samples collected from the floor of isolation boxes containing cattle, pigs or sheep infected with F & M disease virus (type O) was measured daily for periods up to 15 days. Cattle faeces contained virus until the twelfth day, porcine until the tenth day and ovine only on the second day.
