The 10th edition of the RDAs was released on October 23, 1989. Professional interest, always keen, was heightened when the 1985 RDAs were bypassed. At that time, a subcommittee composed of members of the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences, was established to tackle the revision.
