An analysis of rural-urban migration trends in India is presented. The author notes that migrants tend to be poor farmers and craftsmen rather than the most economically depressed population and that the major cities are the primary destinations of migrants. The reasons for such migrations are also analyzed. The study is based on secondary sources. (SUMMARY IN ENG AND RUS )
