Diffuse acute periurethritis (urinary phlegmon)

The authors present 30 patients with diffuse acute periurethral phlegmon. The prevention of signs of toxic-infectious shock involves surgical exposure and resection of necrotic tissues with diversion by cystostomy. Urinary phlegmon constitutes a serious septic entity which requires emergency assessment in order to prevent a fatal outcome. The authors stress several aetiopathogenic, clinical and therapeutic features of this periurethral disease.
