Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) has become a major health problem, and the number of individuals infected with the human immunodeficiency virus continues to increase. The need for nutrition intervention and education for those individuals should be a primary concern among health professionals. In addition, research in the area of nutrition and AIDS is vital.
