Gram-negative bacteria in suppurative wounds

46 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in associations and 20 pure strains, 16 and 21 (respectively) of Proteus mirabilis, 42 and 7 (respectively) of Escherichia coli, 7 and 0 (respectively) of Klebsiella pneumoniae were sown from wounds of 214 patients with traumatic injuries of extremities. It is established that isolated species are serologically heterogenous and belong to different serovars. Different biochemical activity allows relating the strains to different biovars. Within the limits of the species the sensibility of strains to antibiotics varies in wide bounds, which induces necessity of studying the individual sensibility to therapeutical preparations.
