Glycophorin A: study on the dimer-monomer interconversion caused by temperature and concentration

The influence of temperature and concentration on the association state of erythrocyte glycophorin A was studied. The results showed increased monomeric glycophorin A in boiled samples and decrease of this compound in samples not subjected to boiling. Similarly, some correlation was present between the degree of association and the protein concentration in the initial samples with boiling, whereas concentration played no major role in unbound samples.
