Sex education and education for family life in adolescents

A program has been developed to teach students 15-18 years old in Hungarian schools about the various aspects of sexual and family life. The place of the family in society, the place of the child in the family, moral basis for intersexual relationships, and sexual characteristics are the major themes of the program. The themes are elaborated in 20 hours of classroom instruction over a 4 year period. While the program is carried out differently from school to school by teachers and school physicians, a methodological approach to the content of the instruction is being developed.
