Hydroxyproline and hexosamine content of placenta in toxemia of pregnancy

In placenta from 30 toxaemic women there were significantly more hexosamine and mucoid hexoses and less total hexose, mucoid protein and soluble proteins than in placenta from 30 normal women. There were no differences in hydroxyproline and total N contents.
