Effect of prognostic factors on the course of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children

A chance of a 6-year survival had 69.8% of children out of 86 patients with the acute lymphoblastic leukemia treated with BFM regimen while 61.8% had a chance for a 6-year effect-free survival. A value of diagnostic factors for the prognosis was verified with the aid of one-dimensional analysis, considering variability of the said factors during intensive polychemotherapy. Subsequent mulit-dimensional analysis enabled to distinguish groups of factors and assessment of the individual prognosis for each child. Individual prognoses calculated on the base of the accepted statistical model complied with the obtained results of therapy.
