Preliminary findings of noradrenaline (NA) concentration and enzyme activity of dihydroxy L-phenylalanine decarboxylase (DOPAD 1.4.1.26) in four regions of rat brain (cortex, hemispheres without cortex, brain stem and cerebellum) are presented. 64 Wistar albino rats were distributed at random in a factorial design 2 .times. 3, with two levels of nutrition (well-nourished and nutritional recovered from malnutrition) and four environmental conditions (stimulation, control, isolation and isolated du ring first 50 day and after 70 days of overstimulation). DOPAD activity per gram of dry tissue and per hour showed high values in four brain regions in rats had beenin isolation. This discrepancy was highly significant. The animal with environmental rehabilitation were not different from the controls and stimulated rats. The rats with nutritional recovery presented high activities of DOPAD enzyme in brain stem and was statistically signifiocant. The period of nutrition and environmental rehabilitation had not changed on NA concentrations. The regression slopes of NA concentrations and DOPAD activities showed significant differences between isolated rats versus stimulated.
