Emergency measures have been developed for managing patients with ischemic heart disease attended by the sick sinus syndrome. The recommended antianginal therapy mainly include large doses of nitrates used in the form of monotherapy and discontinuation of .beta.-adrenoblockers, cordaron and verapamil; during bradycardia atropine is recommended in doses established on an individual basis; adrenomimetics in such cses should not be used. Paroxysms of tachycardia and extrasystole can be relieved by using less toxic anti-arrhythmic agents in moderate doses. Acute passing sinus node dysfunction is relived in 7-10 days in applying adequate therapeutic tactics.
