Preliminary purified fecal material from patients with hepatitis A was examined in the electron microscope. Virions from 27 to 37 nm in diameter found mainly with accumulations are shown to be present in the material. There are also smaller particles (22 nm) in the group of virions. This virus may be referred to icosahedral type of symmetry. In the process of storing at -8-10.degree. C the desintegration of virions takes place, whose RNP after unfreezing forms banding accumulations.
